Authorities have publicly identified a 65-year-old man whose lifeless body was found last weekend drifting in the ocean off the coast of La Jolla Shores.
A pair of surfers discovered William Cunningham Jr. of San Diego dead in the water about 150 yards offshore on Saturday morning, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
An autopsy determined that Cunningham died of blunt-force trauma and drowning, the agency reported. When he died remained unclear as of Thursday morning.
